    The
    Garmin Instinct Solar
    stands out for its seemingly endless battery life with solar panels that charge while you're on the go. It has all the basic features of a GPS watch, with integration into the Garmin ecosystem. While running in GPS mode, we got about 29 hours of juice, and in smartwatch mode, we didn't need to charge it for three months when it was exposed to the sun regularly. While the design still needs some work, this is the watch we'd recommend to those heading out on a big expedition where GPS tracking is used for just a portion of the day, and an electric outlet can't be found.
